Okay, so we are stuck indoors on yet another cold rainy day, the boys are napping and Alexis is watching Little House, and I am not about to clean up the co op mess yet. Thus a new blog post is born. I will make this somewhat quick because a little nap may be in order for me.
Saturday we all needed to get out. We weren't sure if we would just go to Trader Joe's or the park. After ten minutes driving i looked in the back seat and Mitchie was out cold! I could see Alexis had her blankie over her face which means a nap would be taking place shortly and Matty was looking glossy eyed! So we decided to go the distance and really go somewhere. We decided on Frederick. We took the back country roads so that the kids sleep as long as possible. They must have been very tired because because it was 11:30 and normal naps are at 1. The drive was spectacular. I feel so sad for my friends who have never left the desert on vacay becuase THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING! Especially the ones who really appreciate nature and beauty! For an hour we were driving in the rolling countryside and the bright green grass and the farm animals, mansions, brightly colored barns were simply eye candy for my soul!!! I kept telling Jason "this is England!" It does it looks just like England. And I love that this area is very old so seeing a church that is VERY old and that has wonderful architecture is not an uncommon site! Needless to say I LOVE IT!!!! We went to downtown Frederick and went to a Mexican restaraunt. It wasn't as good as it was 6 months ago, so we won't be going back I bet. The kids were pretty well behaved. Mexican restaraunts are really good for us because I request a salsa for each kid and they go to town for about a 1/2 hour. After lunch we saw in a flyer that South Mountain Creamery( the farm we order our meat, eggs and milk from) was having their anniversary festivities. We thought we would get back in the car and drive a half hour more and go to the farm! So, back to the beautiful drive on our way to South Mountain. Well, there was a misprint and their were no festivities, but they did have cake. We didn't care for cake so we got ice cream on the way out. We went and looked at all the baby calves. They were really darling actually! The boys were NOT IMPRESSED! I am not sure why they were so unimpressed, but they were. They stared at them in disgust and shock! It was funny actually! There were probably 40 lined up in their little stalls. Some were so dang cute and they had pretty little faces and the longest eyelashes. Matthew kept saying "NO MILK, NO MILK" . There was a huge unattractive pig and many chickens on inside the rafters of the barn. Alexis liked the bunnies. When we left we ran outside and they chased ducks and played on the little playground that was there. We saw the mama cows hooked up to the milking machines. ANyways that's all. IT ended up being a perfect day and EVERYONE and i mean EVERYONE needed to get out that day!! SPRING HAS SPruNG. Oh no, I lied it hasn't it is still cold outside! As far as I am concerned it is still winter out there!

One long recap!
Alexis is being so darling lately! I feel like the wheels in her brain are turning more than ever. She asks such cute questions and says such cute things. For instnace just her and I were in the car the other day when she looked up in the sky and was talking about clouds.
She kept asking if I have ever touched a cloud and could we walk on it and what does it feel like. She then asked if I have ever been on an airplane. I told her yes several times with her in fact. She said, when you were up in the airplane did you touch a cloud when the window was down?" That was so cute to me! I didn't go into detail that I am sure i would have been violently SUCKED out had i ever done that.
The other day I was making the kids toast for breakfast, Alexis never likes honey, just "white butter" after her 2nd piece she said "This time don't make it that rusty." Her first two pieces where obviously a little more burned than she likes.
The other morning I told her that in the night when i came to kiss her, her arms were through her shirt and it looked like she was wearing like a strapless dress. She said "Did you think I was Charles Ingals?' I am not sure where she came up with that one! She said because he wears his shirts like that? Was Pa a cross dresser?
Alexis said after repeatedly getting out of her bed. "when i am a mom, I am not going to act like you act!' I will cuddle all the time.
me.. really, 80 times?
her "90".
"No you will spank your kid!"
"Well, maybe I will spank em, then I will still cuddle!"
Me-"What gift would you bring to baby Jesus?"
"I would bring him 100 golds"
Me-"How would you get that much gold?"
"Hay. I would make it out of hay"
"Mom, can we have a baby sister?"
Me-"Hopefully, it depends on what Heavenly Father wants us to have."
"We can pray really really hard. And when I see that your tummy is getting big, then I will tell daddy that we need a highchair."
A few days ago i asked her to change the boys diapers and dress them. She excitedly agreed and did it perfectly. She is honestly great to have around. MOST the time she isn't harrassing them, so I actually have her help me quite a bit.
I need to have her do more to actually help me that she would like. I may have her start making their sandwiches. She would be in heaven. She is still in preschool and still most days says she doesn't want to go and that she hates it. BUT, everyday I get her she was very happy she went. She gets very shy to do things, especially in front of boys. SHe didn't want to do pushups and she cried. The student teachers made her feel better. I keep telling her she isn't shy, she just gets a little embarrased. I remind her that she gives prayers and talks in church, she has been in a ballet recital, she has been in talent shows and she has been in a horse show. She also does Owletts which is in front of her peers. I don't want her to consider herself shy. I can handle a little embarrassed. Plus, i don't want her to think she is "SHY". I would not consider her shy for two seconds! Either would her aunts! Consequences for ALexis would be taking her blankie for the day or possibly the whole night. SHE WANTS TO PLAY WITH HER COUSINS 28 HOURS a day!!! See that, 24 hours isn't even enough. You will MAKE her day to allow her to play with her cousins. I wish her and James had the same connection but for some reason their relationship is QUITE volitile! Kelly and I don't quite understand it. But, since we are neighbors now, hopefully they will really start to be happy and get along!
My buddies...
Where do I begin? I think all my posts sound the same, and this is because I think i have struck it rich with these twins! I can't believe just how amazing it is. I really think that all kids should come in pairs, because to watch these two all day is the most precious, sweet thing to me. I feel like my workload is getting easier because they are more independent. I don't have to really worry if they are in their chairs eating if I run upstairs to finish getting ready. I don't stress if they are up in their room for a long period of time. I don't stress with them walking down the cement steps in front of our house. they are pretty capable now to do most things! They LOVE to get out and go most places.
THey are generally very easy and mild-mannered. It is hard to toot your kids horn knowing that others see you struggle and often whine as to how hard days are. The key word is DAYS. Not everyday, some days. When Mitchie was in his crying/whining nonstop phase that was a HARD. I just thanked Mitchell today while i was changing him for not crying like he used too. I am not sure why that stopped , but ALAS, it has!! I will blame it on winter blues, i felt like crying/whining a lot too! THEY LOVE to get out! Oh boy, that is their favorite word to hear! "do you wanna go?" Matty runs around saying "naynay" which means blankie. We don't leave home without it! Mitchie starts hoppin, jumpin as if to say "heck yeah, oh yeah!" (Alexis ALWAYS said that at this age, THOSE TWO ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL in personalities!!!)
Then he will act really cool like he is about to watch a Nascar race. They both start saying "shooooes, shock". They insist on walking to the car by themselves. Matthew is VERY easy going and half way down i can swoop him up and he obliges. Mitchell?, a no go. He has to do it, and may I add VERY slowly. Mitchell is the caboose, especially on walks. He hangs behind and walks very slowly to his own pace. He doesn't want to stay up with the rest of us. He is checking things out his way. If I tell Matt, "if you don't keep walking, I will..." he will walk. Mitchie will say "NO" and almost go slower.
There are mornings that Matthew will come in my room and cheerfully say "hi momma" and crawl up into my bed and hug and cuddle me for 30 minutes straight. Yesterday he felt a 'LITTLE' under the weather and laid their happy for an hour. He loves to cuddle and will do it whenever you ask. He lets Lex cuddle too. He loves daddy and really wants to lay by him too. Today i was smothering him in kisses and he let me.
When i told Mitchie to give him a kiss he did and Matty said "YUCK!" I tested it twice. Both times got the same response! i think that will ease Jason's mind in regarding his future taste in women! A couple months ago when we were driving on a less appealing street near our new street, I asked Matty, "do you like our new neighborhood?" He looked out the window and said "yuck, yuck yuck" every two or three houses. IT WAS hilarious. My mom and i laughed uncontrollably becuase truly he had sensed that the houses were a little on the unattactive side. It was really funny. He is very kind hearted and sweet. He LOVES Nay-AHL-MEE so much. They really click. They don't have issues unlike Naomi and Mitchell. That is a difference for sure. Naomi tells Mitchie to go away and may push him, then to retaliate, he just antogonizes and bugs. Again, just like is big sis! The boys love going to music class. they often jump around and do what the song calls for. Other times they will just sit on my lap and observe the class. After class, they run down the halls, get a drink and go upstairs for more running. They love being social, BIG TIME! I started Co op our here and they have gone about 5 times now. They are very happy to go, but when Mitchell sees me drive off he cries for a bit. He is still a momma's boy!I love it! That boy likes me a lot! His gappy smile is still so sweet to me. He smiles pretty much 24 hours a day. He is always happy (unless he has decided not to be).
He lets me kiss him tons and tries to say a lot of things. "I YUB YOU!" is one of the cutest things he says. We do lots of dancing around here. It changes the mood and makes everyone happy! All three like me to hold them while I dance, but my back can't take it for too long. Matty goes nuts and really moves, dancing in a circle with the same right foot always leading. Mitchell hops and jumps with rythem and shakes his arms. He has good rythem. I have taught them to 'raise the roof'. The other day a loud song came on in the car and in the mirror I could see Matt was RAISING THE ROOF very vigorously! They have such blonde hair and Mitchell's is quite curly. They are both so handsome to me. Matty is more handsome, and looks like a little Brad Pitt. Mitchell is more soft and cherubic with rosy cheeks.
To say I am in LOVE is a huge understatement. They make having more twins VERY tempting, but i think it would put me in the grave with that amount of work the first two years! But, it makes me think, hmmm maybe I could.
I asked Alexis if she loves her brothers and why she said because they are cute and darling and sweet.
I asked her if she wants more twins she said "No, I just want a sister. I hate just one sister in the house." I hope she gets that too!
Jason is well "ish". He had a hard go this fall. He had a lot of sick days of feeling horrible dizziness and lightheadedness. He had several panic attacks and felt like he was having a heart attack often. I had never seen him like this EVER and it was very scary. I didn't know what was going on, but I didn't feel he was dying on me, but I didn't know what to think. He was VERY scared becuase he didn't know what the heck was giving him these horrible symptoms. In the end, we think it was mainly thyroid issues, and possibly stopping a hormone based drug he had been taking the last two years. He is much better now, but still doesn't feel like himself. He is eating Gluten Free and thinks that it is helping him. His commute of an hour and half at night BITES BAD!!!!!!! I really hate it for him, me and the kids.
I am busy. We just moved a month ago next door to John and Kelley. Since our shortsell and moving out East we have been renting. We were paying top dollar to rent a nice townhome. We hated seeing that much money go down the drain each month so we found a town home that we really updated and made great. I actually prefer it to the other one and we are saving A LOT of mula each month! It was worth the headache, but now I am still unpacking and trying to figure out how I want to decorate this place. It is in such a great location, near everything i love. Very happy we found this place.
Mom and dad basically moved on in for about three months! it was awesome!! They had been here in MD for a lot of fall and ALL of winter. They thought they would move in and help me pack up to move and renovate the new place. HELP is an understatement! We could not have done it without them. It was awesome! They were probably so relieved to get out of my loud crazy household, but it was so wonderful to have them in our house. It actually felt normal, like the old days when we lived in Vegas. It made me miss the life we had together. Even though we never lived with them, they were SOOO apart of our lives that it felt so great. I REALLY miss not having them in our everyday lives. Like, really really miss them. Makes me cry to think about it. :(
Okay, I think this is enough recap for now. SO HAPPY SPRING IS ARRIVING! I feel like I had depression a bit. THis winter seemed hecka long! Being trapped indoors packing up a house and renovating another was quite tedious.
If someone please actually read this whole long post, please say I. I would be fascinated!
Oh the boys prayers, are the highlight of my day!! I will try and update a video.
