"WHY?, YA WRITIN A BOOK?""

Happy Father's Day Pops!!
We all know how great pops is, but one thing some people may not know is that ANYTIME OF THE DAY OR NIGHT if we are hungry he will stop WHATEVER he is doing and make you something to eat. You aren't allowed to ask what it is, and sometimes you are quite surprised, but you are not ever let down. I am especially noticing this service being famished and pregnant 24/7. The other night, jason and i had a steak salad, but about two hours later i was on deaths door with starvation. I got in my car with Alexis at 8:30 p.m. and went to ma and pa's house. When i walked in the door i said, "i need food" Then I yelled for dad. Mom offered and was going to make me a cheese sandwich. Dad left his golf game and came boldly down the stairs, saying "I WILL MAKE IT, GO SIT DOWN!" THAT IS DAD! Well I kept asking him what it was so i could change it up a little so i would be perfectly happy. He kept saying, "just wait, i am NOT telling you". So a few minutes later I am given a plate with a yummy, big turkey patty with A-1 all over it, Omaha Steak potatoes, and a grilled veggie mix of green beans and yellow squash, and then a delicious piece of toast. the second he sat down I said " Oh dad, I sure am thirsty" Up he ALWAYS goes to get anyone water!! Honestly, whatever sibling reads this will just know that i really hit the nail on the head on this post!! I sure do love my dad and if only the whole world could have a dad as cool, funny, thoughtful, smart and loving as my dad the world would be one happy place!!

My whole life whenever we asked dad what was for dinner, even if you were truly dying to know, he would ALWAYS reply with "Why, ya writing a book" and you could not get it out of him. He always names his meals.
SOme of my favorites are....
Mint Montecarlo,
Ratisbon Pie
Icelandic Surprise
Meal Versace
SKee
Ska
John's World Class Chili
Meal Scampi
MEAL Condiment

The thing about dad, is if I really had energy i could write all night about some freakin hilarious stuff he has come up with.

I love ya dad!

that's our dad! Wouldn't trade him for ANYTHING! You did hit the nail on the head! He'll ALWAYS make you something to eat, always try and put you out of your misery, and NEVER tell you what we're having to eat.

I agree COMPLETELY!! I was always tell my friends that dad would make me a sandwich or anything on the drop of a hat. Of course, that's not the only reason i love him but it sure is nice havin a loving "butler" ;)

As a side note, i think i may have to stop bringing my friends to our house. I'm beginning to think they like dad more than me because that's basically all they talk about. I won't lie though, dad was on fire as far as saying funny things go last time i was down there. They thought it was cool how dad would just sit around like one of the boys and talk about boy things. Gotta love pops.

O.K. Jessica, you better stop posting about your dad because, while I don't even know him, I think I'm developing a bit of an old man crush!!! Your dad is seriously hilarious...! -A

You forgot "meal condiment" One of my favorites, as well as one of my first meals after meeting your Dad. I have since enjoyed many crazy concoctions.-sp It was so fun reading about that because it is so true. He is so sweet to always get up and make food. He also makes some mean breakfast eggs with all sorts of stuff in them. I can't recall the name though. He is a super great Dad and grandpa to the boys. We all love him and wish he lived closer. although I am starting to think John is turning into him.

What a great post! Dad really is the best and now I feel bad for not doin a post! Not only will dad make you food at all times, but he will walk you through how to make a meal step by step over the phone. There have been MANY a nights where I have called him about 6 times to ask what now, on one of his recipes. He's the best!
